The Thassos Beach Safari is not a passive sightseeing trip. You drive your own vehicle, feel the breeze through open windows, and follow a convoy of 4x4s deep into corners of the island that most visitors never reach. With Potos Tours leading the way, the day unfolds across three iconic destinations, all wrapped up in a single full-day adventure that suits families, couples, and thrill-seekers alike.

The tour departs at 09:00 and returns at approximately 17:00. Your vehicle will be a comfortable SUV, with options including a Suzuki Jimny Cabrio, Dacia Duster, or Jeep Renegade. Groups travel in a convoy, with a maximum of 3 participants per car. Please note that a valid driving licence is required, as a dedicated driver is not provided for each vehicle. If you do not drive or cannot drive manual transmission, contact Potos Tours before booking and they will arrange for you to travel in a vehicle with a driver.

The first stop is Giola Lagoon, a natural saltwater pool carved into the rock just metres from the open sea. Locally known as the Eye of Zeus for its distinctive oval shape, Giola is one of the most extraordinary natural formations in the Aegean. You will have around 45 minutes here to swim, take photos, or simply sit and take it in. The path to the lagoon is moderately steep, so proper walking or sports shoes are strongly recommended.

Next comes Paradise Beach, wide, sandy, and shallow enough for children and non-swimmers to feel completely at ease. This is the place to slow down, wade into the turquoise water, and let the rhythm of the Aegean do its work. The final stop is Marble Beach, where white marble pebbles meet vivid blue water against a backdrop of towering rock. It is one of the most visually striking spots on the island, and the perfect place to end the day before heading back.

Throughout the tour, your expert guide will share the history and stories behind each location, handle logistics, and keep the convoy moving smoothly. Hotel pickup and drop-off is included at selected hotels within the central area of Thassos. After booking, you will receive a confirmation email with the full list. If your hotel is not included, contact Potos Tours and they will arrange an alternative. A snack and a small bottle of water are also included.

The tour is not suitable for pregnant travellers, people with back problems, wheelchair users, or drivers under 21 years of age. Child seats are available on request, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
