Chase the golden hour along Thassos' dramatic South Coast: sea caves, a swim stop, and a glass of wine as the sky turns gold.
The South Coast Sunset Cruise by Real Holidays is one of those evenings you plan once and remember for years. No experience needed, no rush: this is a 3-hour cruise designed to ease you into the most beautiful part of the Thassos day, the hour before and during sunset, from the comfort of a large wooden tourist boat with a professional crew.
Departures run every day at 18:00, with pick-up from the Real Holidays office in Skala Prinos and from any accommodation between Prinos and Potos. Different pick-up times apply depending on your resort, so you simply select your preferred pick-up point during the booking process.
The cruise follows the rugged, scenic shores of Thassos' South Coast southward to its first main stop: Atspas Beach, a small sandy bay with turquoise water tucked into the coastline. Here you can swim or snorkel before the boat moves on to the impressive sea caves of the South Coast. Conditions and comfort permitting, you can swim near the caves or venture inside, one of those rare moments that feels genuinely unscripted.
From the caves, the boat heads out to open sea for an unobstructed view of the Aegean sunset. Calm music, sea breeze, and golden light, and that is when your included drink arrives: a glass of wine or a soft drink, served exactly when you want it most.
The cruise is run by an English and Greek speaking professional crew and includes local taxes. Infants under 2 travel free. The experience is not recommended for travellers with serious heart or medical conditions, and note that the boat is large and does not reach shallow waters, so swimming to the beach or the caves requires being a confident swimmer or using a life jacket.
The South Coast Sunset Cruise is the kind of Thassos evening that needs no filter: just the sea, the cliffs, the light, and a toast as the sun drops into the Aegean.
