Psili Ammos Beach is located 45 kilometers from Limenas Thassos, on the south shores of the island. You will need approximately one hour to drive by car or taxi and a little more time by public transportation (KTEL buses.) Wherever you choose to stay in Thassos, you should consider visiting this beautiful beach, which is famous for the thin white sand and the shallow crystal clear waters. It’s a perfect destination for families with kids, and it has a fully operating beach bar with rental sunbeds along the seashore for drinks and snacks.
Although it is far from Limenas, Psili Ammos Beach is right next to Potos (just 5 kilometers away) and Astris village. Also, if you want to combine more than one beach in one day, you can visit Yaponezos (Japanese) Beach, a hidden, quiet gem appreciated mostly by locals. A little bit southern, you will find Salonikios Beach, and a few kilometers west of Psili Ammos is Agia Anna Beach. Sometimes, Psili Ammos can be very crowded, especially when the summer season is at its peak. The only reason for that is its rare beauty. Still, if you can’t enjoy the sea with many people around you, you can visit Psili Ammos just for a quick swim (it’s worth it) and move to a quieter beach for the rest of your day to relax and enjoy the sun!
