Marble Beach (Saliara)

Saliara Beach Thassos, also known as Marble Beach, is a stunning natural treasure on the northern side of Thassos, about 7 kilometers from Limenas city center (between Makryammos and Vathi Beach). This small, exotic beach is a true marvel with its unique white marble pebbles, creating an extraordinary landscape that looks more like a snow-covered shore. One of the beach's unique characteristics is that the pebbles are always cool, offering a pleasant walking experience in and out of the water, even during the summer heat. 

The surreal beauty of Saliara Beach lies in its water's gentle blue hue, reflecting off the white seabed with the marble pebbles, which is gradually deepening. Snorkeling enthusiasts will have a fantastic time here in Marble Beach Thassos. To reach this beautiful place, head towards Makryammos and take a left just before the hotel entrance onto a wide but dusty dirt road. Although improved, the journey requires careful driving. Upon arrival, a parking area awaits beachgoers.

Saliara's exotic appeal and breathtaking waters have become a popular destination for visitors and sailing boats. Despite its popularity, especially in the peak season, the beach retains its natural charm. It's well-equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, and a beach bar, offering all the comforts for a perfect beach day. Arriving early in the morning is advised to secure nice sunbeds by the sea and good parking spots.

For those who prefer a more adventurous approach, several excursion boats leave daily from Limenas Thassos and Limenaria ports, offering a different perspective of this magnificent beach and an amazing opportunity for diving. The best times to visit are early June or late August when the crowds thin out, allowing for a more tranquil experience. With its beautiful views, blue water, and perfect natural setting, Saliara Beach is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the essence of Thassos' coastal beauty.
