Kalami Beach Thassos is located on the south shores of Thassos, near Giola Lagoon, 43 kilometers from Limenas and 35 kilometers from Skala Prinos. Visitors refer to Kalami Beach as a hidden and raw gem that whispers the very essence of serenity – it is quiet, and it seems almost forgotten by the busy everyday life. The beach is not organized, but there are a few sunbeds that belong to the Aeolis Hotel.
In contrast to the tourist development on other beaches, this one offers solitude and simplicity. There's no need for transactions or reservations here; nature is your generous host. While the beach has pebbles and smooth rocks rather than fine sand, you will find it very relaxing to sunbathe here, plus the view is breathtaking. The approach might challenge those in low cars, but it rewards with an experience that is rough yet refreshing. If you seek solace and prefer to rest on the sun-warmed stones, this corner of Thassos serves as an idyllic escape. Kalami Beach is mostly untouched by human interventions (except those sunbeds), and the only currency you need is your good mood.
The beach has a rock-strewn entrance to the sea, which is very shallow, but after the stony area finishes, the water becomes deeper and perfect for snorkeling. These underwater rocks are not sharp, but they are slippery, and some sea urchins live there, so it is good if you bring swimming shoes with you. Also, get plenty of water and snacks to keep you going during your stay because there are no extra amenities except for the umbrellas and sunbeds provided by the hotel. Last but not least, if you feel adventurous enough, combine your visit to Kalami Beach with a dive at Giola Lagoon. Just note that both beaches require walking and are not easily accessible to everyone.
