Golden Beach

Golden Beach is often called by visitors “The Beach” because it stands as a statement in Thassos and is a must-visit location for both locals and tourists. Golden Beach owes its fame to its length, almost 3 kilometers long, to its shallow turquoise waters, and to its pure and thin golden sand. Located on the eastern shores of the island, just an 18-minute drive from Limenas Thassos. Υou can reach it easily by car or taxi, while the routes of public transportation (KTEL buses) are also convenient and frequent due to the popularity of this beach.

Behind this long sandy beach stands the highest peak of mountain Ipsarion. The view from that beach is stunning, as the green mountains almost reach the seashore. Alongside the beach, there are two small villages, Skala Potamia and Skala Panagia, where you can enjoy a lovely traditional meal, fresh fish, and local seafood. You can also stay in one of the many hotels and rental properties you will find available in the area.

While arriving at Golden Beach, you have a lot of options to enjoy the sea the way you prefer. There are plenty of spots where you can find fully organized amenities, such as taverns and bars with drinks and snacks, sunbeds, showers, and music.
